The Snow Leopard Jackie Morris Graffeg

This September, small indie press Graffeg will re-issue two classic children’s titles by award-winning illustrator and author Jackie Morris.

The Ice Bear and The Snow Leopard, originally published in 2014 and 2007 respectively, will be re-published in lavish, large-format editions.

The Snow Leopard is a tale of magic and myth set amongst the Himalayan mountains with Jackie Morris’s glorious illustrations and lyrical text now matched by the lavish production values of this book.

The Ice Bear, set in stunning icy landscapes, tells a tale of tolerance and understanding, and reminds us of our duty to take care of this world’s wild creatures.

Graffeg and Jackie Morris first worked together on Cat Walk in 2014, followed by Queen of the Sky in 2015. Jackie’s latest collaboration with Graffeg, the big, beautiful book of lullabies for adults, Quiet Music of Gently Falling Snow, was published in September 2016. The Ice Bear and The Snow Leopard will be the first Jackie Morris books published by Graffeg following her collaboration with Robert MacFarlane on The Lost Words: a spell book (Hamish Hamilton).

The press began its children’s list with Perfect in May 2016, which has been longlisted for the CILIP Greenaway Prize 2017. This month, it was also announced that debut illustrator Abbie Cameron has been longlisted for the Klaus Flugge prize for her work on Animal Surprises, published by Graffeg in June 2016.

The rights to these two books were agreed with Jessica Woollard of David Higham Associates.

The Snow Leopard Review, New York Times: ‘vivid watercolor illustrations that meld ink-brush abstraction and subtle detail into a gorgeous fantasy.’
