Published 2 October 2017: Hinterland: Ceredigion Landscapes and Y Gwyll: Tirweddau Ceredigion.

A collection of photographs, essays and snapshots from the making of the hit TV show Hinterland. Edited by the show’s creators Ed Talfan and Ed Thomas, the book brings together behind-the-scenes photographs with stunning black and white images of the landscapes of Ceredigion, captured by west Wales photographer David Wilson.

Hinterland: Ceredigion Landscapes features an essay by Ceredigion novelist Cynan Jones and Y Gwyll: Tirweddau Ceredigion features an essay by Ceredigion novelist Caryl Lewis, each documenting their responses to the show’s settings and the stories which resonate there.

Video: Hinterland creators Ed Thomas and Ed Talfan tell us why they picked Ceredigion as the location for the series and how the stunning Welsh landscape influenced production. Photographer David Wilson gives some insight into his experience photographing the landscapes of Ceredigion and how his photographs fit alongside the TV series.

Launch Event at The National Library of Wales

There will be two events to launch the books at The National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth. Photographer David Wilson and TV show creators Ed Talfan and Ed Thomas will be discussing the TV show, the books and the landscapes that inspired them to film the show in Ceredigion.
