David Wilson Photographer

David Wilson is a Welsh landscape photographer, renowned for his atmospheric black and white images. He was brought up in Haverfordwest and now lives near the river village of Llangwm with his wife and children. David’s passion for photography took flight soon after buying his first camera at the age of seventeen.

He possesses a great eye for capturing the many characters of Wales through his photography and shows that the beautiful landscape tells the story of Wales. Displaying some of his best monochrome photography, David published his first book, Pembrokeshire with Graffeg in 2013.

Exploring his native county, Pembrokeshire displays a series of images signifying an enchanting mystery, unveiling the dramatic and stark beauty of the county.

David’s second book, Wales A Photographer’s Journey, showcases the breathtaking landscape across Wales. Following this, in 2016 David collaborated with architectural historians Greg Stevenson and Mark Baker on 50 Buildings That Built Wales; a coffee table compendium of 50 buildings and structures that have helped to create the Wales we know today.

Autumn 2017 sees the publication of Hinterland: Ceredigion Landscapes and Y Gwyll: Tirweddau Ceredigion, two books beautifully exhibiting production shots from the making of the TV series Hinterland / Y Gwyll alongside David’s photography of the landscapes of Ceredigion, which helped to inspire the series. A 2018 calendar containing a selection of these photographs is also available to complement the books.
