Our team at Graffeg work hard to produce stunning books that you’ll enjoy time and time again. Here is more about us and what we do.

Peter Gill
Director

Peter oversees the entire production, sales and marketing strategies for the company and is the key decision maker for all new titles. Peter’s background is in creative design so he ensures that all Graffeg books are produced to the highest possible standard. He has won a number of design awards as Creative Director of Peter Gill & Assocaites (parent company of Graffeg) and his work has been published in Design Week, Graphis Magazine, Graphis annuals, D&AD annuals and the Sunday Times Magazine.

Favourite Graffeg book: Pembrokeshire David Wilson – “a perfect example of why black and white photography is often better than colour”

Matthew Howard
Sales Manager

Matthew looks after the book trade and the lovely bookshops that sell our books. He also manages the creation of our new Apps (coming soon). His previous experience includes working for Prudential and W.H.Smith Ltd. Most recently Matthew spent six years working for the Welsh Books Council promoting English language publishing in Wales.

Favourite book: A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving

Sarah Evans
Production and Editorial Executive

Sarah manages the book printing process, from assisting commissioning to copy-editing and printing the final product. Before joining Graffeg she gained publishing experience whilst working in London and Oxford. Sarah has an interest in all things book-related, including design and typography, and is an avid reader.

Favourite book: The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood/Behind the Scenes at the Museum by Kate Atkinson
Favourite Graffeg book: Caldey Island – “the pen portraits of the monks are truly wonderful”

Vanessa Bufton
Marketing Executive

Vanessa handles the marketing and PR which includes writing press releases, liaising with journalists and Graffeg’s busy authors, arranging events, social media, website and marketing materials. She has worked in all aspects of Graffeg over the years but pleased that the team has now expanded to include her new colleagues Sarah and Matthew.

Favourite book: Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

David Williams
Graphic Designer

David is a senior graphic designer at Peter Gill & Associates. He has been involved with Graffeg right from the start, working on the first book ‘Landscape Wales Tirlun Cymru’ published in 2003. He is a master of design details and rigorously checks the quality of photographs and prepares books ready for print. He also designs new books, posters, adverts and much more.

Favourite book: The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkein
Favourite Graffeg book: My Ryder Cup – The longest weekend – “This book captures the very essence of the event in print – live drama, the players, quotations and amusing chants from spectators – and for me especially it helps to fill in some of those sporting feats that I missed as a result of that unprecedented 4th day.”

Joana Rodrigues
Graphic Designer

A graduate of Fine Arts from Lisbon University, Joana moved to Cardiff in 1999 when she joined Peter Gill & Associates. She creates designs for new books from start to finish, marketing materials and also picture research when needed. She’s worked on several books including our latest titles ‘Seashore Safaris revised edition’, ‘Flavours of Wales’ and ‘Rivers of Wales’.

Favourite book: Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
Favourite Graffeg book: Seashore Safaris – “because my kids love going to the beach and with this book you can learn a lot about the species you find”
