Charismatic coastal images reflect the dazzling beauty of Wales in this amazing new book 'Coastline Wales' about the Welsh coast.

Coastline Wales is a sumptuous hardback book that takes us on a spectacular pictorial journey along the Welsh seaboard. From wild surf beaches, where Atlantic rollers crash on the shore, to snug, sunlit ports and historic Victorian resorts, this book has the Welsh coastline covered.
Wales can lay claim to the UK’s only coastal national park - Pembrokeshire - and, in Skomer and Skokholm Islands, it boasts nature reserves of international significance. The two islands host the world’s largest breeding colonies of Manx Shearwaters, and the extraordinary cacophony on a moonless night as these birds return to their nesting sites is truly one of nature’s wonders.
Further north, the Snowdonia mountain range offers a dramatic backcloth to the ever-changing shoreline. This unspoilt landscape offers a unique haven for wildlife - the expansive rolling dune system at Morfa Harlech, for example, is home to many nationally scarce plant and invertebrate species.
Coastline Wales also reflects the nation’s modernity with a gleaming, futuristic image of Cardiff Bay, upbeat and forward-looking, its sights firmly averted from the past.
In all, this stunning, large format hardback book features more than 150 colour photographs.
“The book captures the Welsh coastline in all its moods, from idyllic summer days on the beach, to clouds brooding atmospherically where the mountains of Snowdonia meet the sea,” explains Peter Gill, managing director of publishing house, Graffeg. “Not only does it reflect the magnificent coastal waters and seascapes of Wales, it also celebrates contemporary Welsh life with its stylish seafront hotels, fine restaurants and high adrenalin activities like kite surfing.”
“I hope people will look at the book and find a part of Wales they love and recognise, as well as discovering something new and inspirational,” he adds.
Coastline Wales is published by Graffeg (029 2037 7312, www.graffeg.com), price £25, and is available from Waterstones, Borders, Amazon, and all good independent book stores.
